The gospel never changes, but the Church has never stopped changing. From house churches in Jerusalem to cathedrals in medieval Europe, from the Reformers' preaching movements to modern global missions, every generation has reimagined how the Church fulfills Christ's mission without compromising His message. The forms have evolved, but the gospel has remained the same.

Lake Avenue Church stands at a similar moment. We are both an organic community of disciples and a complex institution entrusted with significant people, ministries, facilities, and resources. Faithfulness requires us to steward both identities well—not preserving structures for their own sake, but continually asking how they can better serve the mission of Jesus Christ.

Over the next five weeks in August, we will explore what it means for us to reimagine the Church to faithfully engage a rapidly changing culture while remaining deeply rooted in the unchanging truth of the gospel.
