If we are seeking peace and just friendship itself, that will not work. What we have to seek is Christ, the Word of Christ, the way of Christ, and the grace that Christ gives to each one of us in measure. That gives us the kind of unity we cannot get for ourselves; because that is a unity Christ has already achieved for us and the church.
