What is it?
The Living Room is an evening communal gathering for us to enter in worship together and serve our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is a reflection of our home in heaven and what it looks like to dwell in it as Christ’s family.
Who's us?
You! Ephesians 2:19 says “so then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God” and our call is to be all ONE body.
What is it for?
For us to be faithful to the call in scripture to be one body and family in Christ. Ephesians 2: 20-22 continues “...Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.” Consider how God’s kingdom is not for the privileged and powerful but for those who find themselves on the outside. We are not here to consume content, community, or relationship; but rather because Jesus called us into our family, and now we are to do likewise and extend our love to others.
What will the structure be?
Doors open at 6:30pm, and dinner will be served to follow. Before we break bread, we’ll gather together and pray. Try to sit next to someone new! Then, we’ll eat together and clean the table as we prepare ourselves to move in rhythms of worship through moments of singing, prayer, and practice as a family.
What happened to Anchored?
Anchored was our monthly worship gathering that started during the pandemic. Out of that experience and community came a desire to meet more frequently and also add sharing a meal togther. This led to our worship gathering for this new season, The Living Room.
Think of it as a new season of our gatherings from Anchored, more frequent, with a component of sharing a meal with each other. We are excited to see what this new season brings!
